‘Maximum priority to Rifat murder case’

Staff Correspondent: The law-enforcement agencies have put maximum priority to detain the killers of Barguna’s Rifat.

Sohel Rana, assistant inspector general (AIG) media and PR of Police headquarters on Friday morning said, “Already three accused have been arrested. Interrogation is underway. Maximum priority is given to arrest the other killers in the case.”

“All international airports, land ports, and river ports are kept alert to stop the suspected culprits from crossing the border. District police, PBI, CID, RAB and DMP’s counter terrorism units are jointly working to arrest the killers,” he said.

A group of criminals including Nayan and Rifat Farajee attacked Rifat with sharp weapon in broad daylight in front of Barguna Government College Wednesday morning while her wife was desperately trying to save him.

The entire incident was captured possibly on a mobile phone and footage of the incident went viral on social media.
