Mayor Miru's brother, driver land in jail

Sirajganj Correspondent: A Dhaka court has sent Shahzadpur mayor Halimul Haque Miru's brother Habibul Haque Mintu and driver Shahin Alam sent to jail after their 5-day remand ended.

Judge Md Hasibul Haque of Shahzadpur Upazila Senior Judicial Magistrate Court passed the order on Monday noon.

Monirul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shahzadpur Police Station, also the investigation officer (IO) of the case, confirmed the news.

Abdul Hakim Shimul, Shahzadpur Upazila Correspondent of Daily Samakal was shot in a clash between two groups on February 2.

Later, he succumbed while undergoing treatment in a hospital.
