Medical assistant dies from dengue in Madaripur

Madaripur Correspondent: A medical assistant died of dengue fever at a city hospital on Thursday. He is the seventh patient to have died of the disease in the district.

Tapan Kumar Mandal, 35, a medical assistant of Madaripur Sadar. He was son of Jadunath Mandal, hailed from Barailbari village of Peyarpur union of the Sadar upazila.

Sources said that the victim went to Dhaka South City Corporation following the government order to prevent dengue. He was infected with dengue on August 11 and got admitted to Madaripur Sadar Hospital.

Later he was shifted to Dhaka’s Bangladesh Medical College Hospital where he died under treatment around 3:00pm on Thursday.
