Medical student among 3 killed in road accident

The members of a family including a medical student have been killed in a road accident.

The accident took place in Old Kosba area of Jashore town on Friday night. The deceased were identified as Tonima Yesmin Piasa, 25, a medical student and wife of motor parts businessman Shofikul Islam Joti, Piasa’s elder sister Tanjila Yesmin, 28, and sister-in-law Afroja Tabasum Tithi, 28.

Inspector of Kotwali Model Thana Tasmim Alam said Tonima Yesmin Piasa was a fourth year student of Jashore Sakina Medical College Hospital and married to motor parts businessman Shofikul Islam Joti about one year and six months ago. January 23 was set as their marriage ceremony programe and they were inviting guests. Their private car hit an electric pole as the driver lost control over it.  They were taken to Jashore General Hospital where they died after some time.

Shofikul Islam Joti and his nephew were injured in the accident.
