Memo submitted to DC office demanding Khaleda’s release

Staff Correspondent: BNP leaders and activists submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Dhaka demanding unconditional release of Khaleda Zia.

Hundreds of BNP men led by BNP's Dhaka district unit president Dewan Mohammad Salauddin Ahmed and general secretary Khandakar Abu Ashfak submitted the memorandum to Dhaka DC Mohammad Salauddin around 11:00am.

Following the BNP programme, a huge number of law enforcers were deployed in front of the deputy commissioner's office. However, no untoward situation was reported.

Meanwhile, the BNP leaders demanded immediate release of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

BNP chairperson’s adviser Barrister Ziaur Rahman, its assistant organising secretary Abdus Salam Azad, Dhaka north unit BNP senior vice President Munshi Bazlul Basit Anju, Dhaka district unit general secretary Ahsanullah Hasan, Dhaka district unit BNP general secretary Khondaker Abu Ashfak, organising secretary Rezaul Karim Paul and joint secretary Badiuzzazamn Badi were, among others, present.
