Militants target law enforcers, says IGP

Staff Correspondent: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Mohammad Javed Patwari opined that militants have targeted law enforcement agencies. That’s why tightened security measures have been taken.
The IGP made the opinion while addressing a programme at police headquarters in the capital on Wednesday.
He said, “Militants are following ‘lone wolf’ attack method across the world. Single attack tendency has increased which is almost tough to tackle.”
“The activities of militants are under control. However, it was not possible to uproot militancy. People have become alert after Holey Artisan attack,” he said.
Crime Reporters' Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) president Abul Khayer, general secretary Dipu Sarwar, vice president Mizan Malik, organizing secretary Rashed Nizam, Additional IGP (HRM) Md Shafikul Islam, DIG (Operations) Barrister Mahbubur Rahman and others attended the function.
