Minor burnt to death in Narayanganj

Staff Correspondent, Narayanganj: A nine-year-old boy was burnt to death allegedly by his mother in Baroipara village under Araihazar Upazila, Narayanganj on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Hridoy, 9, son of Anwar Hossain.

Sources said that the mother Shefali had an extra marital affair with a local man named Momen. Her sons came to know the matter. Since then, she planned to kill them.

Sub-Inspector Shahadat Hossain of Araihazr Police Station said on information, police rushed to the spot and detained the kid's mother Shefali. In the same incident, her younger son Jihad, 7, also got burn injuries. He was taken to Dhaka Medical College as his condition deteriorated.

Following the incident, police is trying to detain Momen, he added.
