Mirpur slum fire under control

Staff Correspondent: The fire, that broke out at a slum in Dhaka's Mirpur area early Monday, has been doused.
A total of 23 fire units brought the blaze under control around 7:30am.
Fire Service duty officer Mahfuzur Rahman confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.
"On information, 14 fire units rushed to the spot to bring the blaze under control. Later, nine more fire units joined the team," he said.
Earlier, the fire originated at Ilias Mollah Slum around 4:00am and spread out to the whole slum.
Locals said that there were seven to eight thousands of tin shed and wooden houses in the slum. Most of them were gutted in the fire. Following the fire, a woman sustained burn injuries. She was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
