Mom kills daughter for she wanted a son

Savar Correspondent: A woman has allegedly strangled her six-day-old daughter in Savar as reportedly the family had expected a son.

Sources said that the woman by the name Anjana has three more daughters and faced severe denigration from her family after she had gave birth to another daughter recently.

Following the issue, the couple locked into clash on Thursday. Locals believe that she strangled her daughter for this reason.

Police detained the victim's father and mother over issue.

Sub-Inspector Sumon Mia of Savar Model police station confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.
