Mother in custody after killing 2-year-old girl

Chuadanga Correspondent: A woman was taken in police custody for allegedly killing her two-year-old daughter at Sonatonpur village in Alamdanga upazila of Chuadanga.

The deceased has been identified as Sneha, youngest of the three children of Mamun Ur Rashid.

Police and locals said Shamim Ara Saima, 35, wife of Mamun Ur Rashid, took Sneha to the kitchen of their house and slaughtered her with a sharp weapon on Monday.

Alamdanga police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Munshi Asaduzzaman said that investigation is underway to identify the reason behind the killing.
