Senior Correspondent: BNP Standing Committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed has come up with a result of next general election if it is held in free and fair manner.
He said, “BNP and its 20-party alliance will secure 75 percent of votes while Awami League and its 14-party alliance will bag 25 percent, if the 11th parliamentary election is hold in free and fair manner.”
The BNP stalwart on Friday came up with the statement while speaking at a programme at the Jatiya Press Club demanding the party chief Khaleda Zia’s release from jail.
“The landslide victory of pro-BNP panel in the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) election reflected the country’s public opinion. BNP will get 75 percent of votes if the upcoming parliamentary election is held in such free and fair manner. This is the real public opinion,” he added.
He said, “They (Awami League) always try to win in SCBA, but they failed. They won the presidential post just for a period.”
