Much-awaited MNP service launched

Staff Correspondent: The much-awaited mobile number portability (MNP) service has been launched for the first time in the country.
Under the service, customers will be able to switch to different operators without changing their existing mobile phone numbers.
At a press conference, Jahurul Haque, acting chairman of the Bangladesh Telecom Regulatory Commission (BTRC), said the service went into operation at 12 am on Monday.
Bangladesh has introduced the service as the 72nd country in the world, Jahurul Haque added.
