Myanmar assures to take back Rohingyas of zero line

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Myanmar has assured to take back Rohingyas who took shelter at the zero line of the border with Bangladesh.

Brigadier General S M Rakibullah, Cox’s Bazar region commander of Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB), told this after holding a flag meeting with Myanmar border guard police (BGP) on Thursday.

The meeting started at 12:00pm and continued till 4:00pm held at Cox’s Bazar BGB headquarters.

Though BGB commander came up with answers of different questions made by journalists, BGP delegate refused to make any statement.

BGP shot Rohingya child at zero line

Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) shot and wounded a Rohingya child at the zero line of the Tombru border in the afternoon.

The incident took place at round 4:45pm, just after 45 minutes of ending the flag meeting held between BGB and BGP, at the no-man’s land along Naikkhyangchharhi border.

Inspector Emon Chowhdury, In-Charge of Ghumdhum Police Investigation Outpost, confirmed the news.

The victim was known as Ansar Ullah, 12, according Rohingya camp leader Arif Ullah.

He was was admitted to the Red Crescent Field Hospital near the Kutupalong Refugee Camp with a bullet wound in the left thigh, said Inspector Emon Chowhdury.
