Cox's Bazar Correspondent: Myanmar has ruled out the allegation of firing blanks along Tombru border in a flag meeting held between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Guard Police (BGP).
The hour-long meeting started around 3:15pm held at Ghumdhum Border Observation Post (BOP), adjacent to the Bangladesh-Myanmar Alliance Bridge inside Bangladesh, over the volatile situation along Tombru border.
Myanmar's BGP also claimed that the deployment of additional troops along the border is a part of regular patrolling.
They, however, assured BGB to take back Rohingya people who took shelter at Zero Point.
Commanding officer of BGB battalion-34 Lt Col Manjurul Ahsan Khan who led a five-member Bangladesh delegation told this to the reporters after the flag meeting.
