Myanmar starts work to repatriate Rohingyas: Suu Kyi

Staff Correspondent: The Myanmar government has begun to work on repatriation of Rohingyas who are living in Bangladesh.
The Myanmar state counsellor and leader of the ruling party made the statement during a meeting with Bangladesh Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan in the capital city of Naypyidaw on Wednesday.
A ten-member delegation led by Asaduzzaman Khan attended the hour-long discussion with Suu Kyi.
Aung San Suu Kyi said the Myanmar government has started work to implement the recommendations made by the Kofi Annan Commission to bring solution to the Rohingya crisis.
The home minister invited Suu Kyi for a visit to Bangladesh on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
In reply, Suu Kyi said she will visit Bangladesh at a time convenient to both sides.
The home minister said no terrorist will get any scope to use the land of Bangladesh and conveyed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s zero tolerance policy towards terrorists and terrorism.
Asaduzzaman Khan, however, said the Rohingyas might turn terrorists if they are not taken back quickly to their homeland.
According to United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) 603,000 Rohingyas have entered Bangladesh fleeing the violence which erupted in Myanmar on August 25.
