Mymensingh road crash leaves two dead

Two people were killed as a goods-laden truck run over them in Nandail upazila of Mymensingh district on Wednesday (April 1) morning.
The incident took place on Mymensingh- Kishoreganj highway in front of Palli Bidyut zonal office near Sadar bus stand in the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Abdur Rashid, 45, son of Wahed Ali and Sirajul Islam, 50, son of Amzad Ali of the upazila.
Toufiqul Islam Towhid, officer-in-charge (OC) of Nandail Highway Police Station, confirmed the news.
The goods-laden truck hit a pedestrian and a by-cyclist around 6:00am, leaving them dead on the spot, said the OC.
The truck was seized but the driver of the truck and its helper managed to flee the spot, he added.
