NGO official killed in Khulna road accident

Staff Correspondent, Khulna: A NGO official named Rafikul Islam (38) has been killed in a road accident in the district.

The accident took place on Sunday night in Nijhumpur Residential area of Jhelerdanga under Dumuria upazila.

Rafikul Islam was the assistant manager of Asha’s Dumuria zonal office.

The NGO official, hailed from Barisal, used to reside in Khalishpur area of Khulna city.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dumuria Thana Md Habil Hossain said a truck ran over him around 9.00pm when he was returning home by a motorcycle. He died on the spot.
