National polls see 80% turnout

Staff Correspondent: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda has said that about 80% votes were cast in the 11th national elections.
The CEC made the disclosure while addressing a press conference at Nirbachon Bhaban in the capital on Monday afternoon.
Following vote rigging issue, he said, “There is nothing to feel shame on this election. There is no dissatisfaction in the context of election criteria. The EC is fully satisfied with this election.”
“We will not arrange any new election. There is no scope to hold the election again,” he said.
Election Commissioners Mahbub Talukdar, Kabita Khanam, Shahadat Hossain, Rafiqul Islam, EC secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed and others attended the press conference.
