Newborn saved from dog’s jaw loses battle

Staff Correspondent: A newborn baby girl who was saved from dog’s jaw in Gazipur has lost the battle for life.
The several-hour-old baby, wrapped in a bag, was found at a dustbin of Pashchim Bilaspur area of Gazipur City Corporation on Tuesday noon.
Pronoy Bhushan Das, resident medical officer (RMO) of Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital in Gazipur, and locals said, “Shahnaz Parvin, nursemaid of local Jalal Uddin Master School found a dog was dragging a bag in a dustbin of Pashchim Bilaspur area while she was returning home from the school. She went forward to the dustbin as she noticed crying of a newborn there. She rescued the baby and rushed to the hospital immediately. Later, the baby died while undergoing treatment in the hospital.”
The newborn, aged for several-hours, was pre-matured, the doctor said.
