Newly-elected members of 11th parliament take oath

Staff Correspondent: The oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected lawmakers has been held at the national parliament.
The ceremony started with recitation of Holy Quran 11:00am on Thursday.
According to the rules, newly elected MP from Rangpur-6, Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury first took oath herself. Later, she then administered the oath to other Awami League MPs at the Oath Room of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
Senior Secretary of Parliament Secretariat Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan conducted the oath-taking ceremony.
On December 30, Bangladesh Awami League won the election by a landslide victory. AL-led alliance bagged 288 seats in the parliament. Voting in Gaibandha 3 constituency was postponed due to the death of a candidate on December 22.
