Neymar misses training after knock against Switzerland

Sports Desk: Neymar missed Brazil’s outdoor training session on Monday after taking a knock during their opening game against Switzerland which ended in a 1-1 draw, according to reports by Sky Sports.

Neymar’s worst nightmare during the game was Valon Behrami , who was his shadow until he saw the yellow card and was replaced by Denis Zakaria. Neymar’s offensive game was thus marred with frequent interruptions.

Neymar was fouled 10 times during the game against Switzerland last night, the most fouls received by any player in a single match in World Cup since Alan Shearer was fouled 11 times against Tunisia in 1998 World cup.

Report by Sky Sports also suggested that Paulinho and Thiago Silva joined Neymar in staying at the team's hotel gym to carry out physical work while the other 20 members of the squad took part in full training.

Brazil head coach Tite had previously admitted Neymar was "not 100 per cent" before the match, having both fractured his metatarsal and sprained his ankle in February.

Neymar however completed the full 90 minutes against the Swiss but appeared to hobble for parts of the game.

Brazil play Costa Rica in their second Group E game on Friday.
