Nipun Roy, 6 others put on 5-day remand

Staff Correspondent: A court in Dhaka granted five days of remand to BNP Executive Committee member Nipun Roy Chowdhury and six others in a case filed over a clash between BNP men and police in Naya Paltan.  

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Satyabrata Sikder passed the order on Friday after hearing.

The others remanded people are – Chhatra Dal central sangsad assistant general secretary Arifa Sultana Ruma, Yunus Mridha, Abul Hashim Sabuj, Mamun-or-Rashid, Amir Hossain and Mohsin.

Earlier, Inspector of Detective Branch of police Md Quamrul Islam, also investigation officer of the case, produced them before the court seeking a 10-day remand for them.

On Wednesday, a clash was erupted between BNP leaders-activities and police at BNP’s central office Naya Paltan. Two vehicles of police were torched during the clash. Later, police filed three separate cases in this regard.
