No bar to continue 4G auction

Staff Correspondent: The appellate division upheld the chamber Judges Court verdict that halted the HC order which issued a stay order on the circular of 4G license by Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).

A five-member bench led by acting Chief Justice Abdul Wahhab Miah passed the order on Sunday.

Following the verdict, there is no barrier to continue 4G licensing guideline and invitation of application for auction of 4G spectrum, the lawyer said. 

The court also ordered to settle the matter within February 28.

Barrister Rokon Uddin Mahmud moved for the petitioner while Attorney General Mahbube Alam stood for the state.

Earlier on Thursday, the High Court stayed the circular issued by Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) inviting applications for auctioning 4G licensing guideline and wave. Later, the chamber court issued stay order on the HC's verdict.
