No bar to hold DUCSU election

Staff Correspondent: The appellate division has withdrawn the stay order to hold elections to Dhaka University Central Student Union or DUCSU.

The appellate division led by Chief Justice passed the order on Sunday.

Writ petitioner Monzil Morshed confirmed the matter to media.

Earlier on January 17, the High Court ordered the Dhaka University authorities to organize an election to its central students’ union DUCSU.

Justice Syed Muhammad Dastagir Husain and Justice Md Ataur Rahman Khan’s bench delivered the verdict over a ruling issued on the polls. Later, the chamber court passed a stay order over the verdict.
