‘No proper definition of fair polls’

Staff Correspondent: Election Commissioner (EC) Md Rafiqul Islam said there is no proper definition over fair election, but a law based definition.

He told this to the reporters at Election Bhaban in the capital’s Agargaon on Sunday.

In reply to a query, the commissioner said we have to arrange polls based on the satisfaction of voters, candidates and their acceptance. We are working for making polls acceptable to them. There is no definition of fair polls. It has a law based definition and explanation. So, we follow all legal procedures when we work for holding polls. We believe the polls are thoroughly acceptable when these are occurred as per law.
