Nominations of Atiqul, Tabith valid

Nomination papers of Awami League mayoral candidate Atiqul Islam and BNP’s Tabith Awwal have been declared valid.

Returning officer of the polls to Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Abul Kasem declared their nominations valid at the National Local Government Institute of Agargaon in the city on Thursday.

The nomination of Jatiya Party candidate GM Kamrul Islam has been declared invalid as he is not a voter of the DNCC area, he also said.

Other valid mayoral candidates are Gana Front’s Kazi Md Shahidullah, Islami Andolan Bangladesh’s Sheikh Fazle Bari Masud, PDP’s Shahin Khan, NPP’s Anisur Rahman Dewan and Bangladesh Communist Party candidate Ahmed Sajjadul Haque.
