‘Not possible to deploy army at every centre’

Staff Correspondent, Mymensingh: Election Commissioner (EC) Mahbub Talukder said that it is not possible to deploy army at every polling station in the upcoming 11th general election.

He said this while exchanging views with returning officers, assistant returning officers and officials of law enforcement agencies at the auditorium of Mymensingh district administrator on Friday evening.

Mahbub Talukder said, “Army will be deployed on limited scale. Army will be kept at such place so that they could reach all centres within a short time.”

“There is no scope to defer polls due to different reasons including Ijtema. I hope, the election would be free, fair and acceptable,” he added.

Mentionable, the 11the national parliamentary polls are scheduled to be held on December 30.
