Nowshaba case hearing July 14

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has fixed July 14 for hearing in a case filed against actress Nowshaba Ahmed for spreading rumors on social networking site Facebook.

The Investigation Officer (IO) and police's Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit Inspector Shawkat Ali submitted chargesheet against her before Dhaka Chief Magistrate and Metropolitan (CMM) court recently.

The case was scheduled to be heard on May 28 with the presence of accused. But Nowshaba did not appear before the court.

Her lawyer Imrul Kawsar said, “Nowshaba did not know that chargesheet in the case was submitted. So, she could not appear and she needs time.”

After hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Didar Hossain accepted time petition and fixed July 14 for hearing.
