Obituary reference on Chawkbazar victims adopted in JS

Parliament Correspondent: The Jatiya Sangsad (JS) on Sunday unanimously adopted a condolence motion expressing profound shock at the death of 67 people in the devastating blaze at Churihatta in Old Dhaka’s Chawkbazar area.

Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury moved the condolence motion in the House after the resumption of the day's sitting.

She prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed souls and expressed sympathy to the bereaved families.

The Speaker prayed for early recovery of the injured persons.

Mentionable, a devastating blaze originated at Chawkbazar area in Old Dhaka around 10:30 pm on Wednesday (February 20), leaving 67 people dead and hundred others injured.
