ASP Mizanur Ranman Talukder
Staff Correspondent: Police have arrested a suspected person in connection with the murder of assistant superintendent of police (ASP) Mizanur Ranman Talukder.
The arrestee is Shah Alom.
Confirming the incident to risingbd.com on Sunday morning, Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said Shah Alom was arrested from Tongi, on the outskirts of Dhaka, on Saturday night.
On June 21, 50-year old Mizanur, an ASP of Savar highway circle, left his residence in Sector-5 of Uttara around 5:00am for his office at Kaliakoir in Gazipur. Since then, he remained missing.
Later, police recovered the body of Mizanur Ranman Talukder from near Birualia Bridge around 11:30am, possibly dumped by the assailants after killing him at some other place. A piece of cloth was found wrapped around his neck during the recovery of him.
Following the murder, Mizanur’s younger brother Masum Talukder filed a case accusing some unknown persons. Dhaka Metropolitan Police (West) is currently investigating the case.
