One killed in Sylhet pre-polls violence

Staff Correspondent: A teenage boy was killed and 15 others injured in a clash centering the upcoming upazila polls at Osmani Nagar upazila in Sylhet on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Saiful Islam, 16, son of late Shariful Islam.
Local sources said that former word member Shawkat Ali of North Kalinichar village and Baharuddin of South Kalinichar locked into altercation. Following the dispute, villagers from the two villages locked into clash, leaving Saiful Islam dead on the spot.
Confirming the matter, Osmani Nagar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Awal Chowdhury said additional police forces were deployed in the area.
