One killed in Teknaf ‘gunfight’

Cox's Bazar Correspondent: A suspected drug trader and robber was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with police in the district’s Teknaf upazila on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Md Lalu.

The gunfight took place near BGB’s Damdomia checkpost area on Cox's Bazar-Teknaf Road.

Teknaf Police Station OC Pradip Kumar Das said, Yaba traders gathered there for their business purpose and on information a team of police went there.  Sensing the presence of law enforcers, drug traders opened fire targeting policemen and it also promoted the policemen to back fire that triggered a gunfight. Later, a man's body was recovered from the spot.

Besides, police recovered two guns, 10 rounds of bullets and 6 thousand pieces of yaba from the spot.
