One to die, two get life term for murder

Kushtia Correspondent:  A court here has sentenced a man to death and two others to life term imprisonment in a case filed in connection with the murder of a BCL leader in Sadar upazila in 2015.

Kushtia District and Sessions Judge Arup Kumar Goswami handed down the verdict on Monday.

The condemned convict is Tutul Hossain, 25, son of late Kashem Ali of Mollateghoria village while the lifers are Ashraful Islam, 30, son of Abdul Hamid in Lahini Kanal Para area and Mosharaf Hossain, 30, son of Muntaz Pramanik in Jugia Kadomtala area.

The court also fined Tutul Tk 20,000 while the two others Tk 10,000 each.

According to the prosecution, the convicted youths called Pias, a 2nd year student of Accounting Department and former vice-president of defunct committee of BCL of Kushtia Government College, from his house and shot him dead over internal conflict.
