‘Online journos to get acknowledgement of media employees’

Staff Correspondent: Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) President Mollah Jalal said journalists of online news portal will get acknowledgement of media employees.

He came up with the disclosure while visiting the popular online news portal ‘risingbd.com’ at the capital’s Mirpur on Tuesday afternoon.

Daily Ajkalerkhobor Editor Faruque Ahmad Talukder accompanied him at the moment.

Risingbd Advisory Editor Uday Hakim welcomed them with wreaths.

Risingbd Editor Nowsher Ali and chief administrative official Milton Ahmed, among others, were present there.

Mollah Jalal visited news, feature, sports and web etc. departments of risingbd. He also talked to journalists of risingbd and listened to their different requirements and media experience.

Uday Hakim conveyed thanks to them for their kind visit at risingbd. He said, “We are moving forward to be no. 1 online media. We hope that leaders of all journalist associations including BFUJ will stand by us with their help and suggestions in this regard.

Mollah Jalal said, “At present, online media has become the fundamental media. But it is a matter of sorrow that online media has yet not been acknowledged by the state. When Draft of Media Employee Act was finalised, when made include online media journos in it. Online journalists will get legal acknowledgement once the bill is passed.”

He said, “Online journalists must be faster than that of other media so that they can circulate news immediately to the readers.”

He also wishes success of risingbd, saying “Uday Hakim is engaged with it. He is an experienced person on journalism. I believe, risingbd will move forward swiftly under his leadership.”

Mentionable, he rendered an outstanding role as Founding Editor of risingbd that started journey in 2013 with the theme of highlighting positive Bangladesh towards the national and international readers. Making its journey successful, he left the charge in the online news portal about five years ago for dedicating himself in branding Walton and its products at home and abroad.

On June 3, he again joined the news portal as Advisory Editor.
