Over 200 shops gutted in DNCC market fire

Staff Correspondent: Over 200 tin-shed business establishments were gutted in the fire that ripped through the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) kitchen market in Gulshan-1 on Saturday morning.

Md Nazrul Islam, a shopkeeper, said there were 211 tin-shed business establishments in the market and all the stores damaged in the fire.

A fire broke out at the kitchen market near DNCC market at Gulshan-1 in the city early Saturday.

The fire originated at the tin-shed kitchen market around 5:30am.

Twenty firefighting units brought the blaze under control around 8:25am, sources at the Fire Service and Civil Defence said.
