PM against introducing EVM hastily

Risingbd Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that it should not be fair to introduce Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) hastily in the upcoming national election.

She said, “Our declaration was to build Bangladesh a digital country. Using EVM in the elections is a part of the announcement. I gave my consent to import EVM and still I support it. But it should not be introduced hastily. It needs more experiments.”

The premier said this while addressing a press conference which was arranged to inform about her recent visit to Bimstec summit at her official residence Gonobhaban on Sunday afternoon.
