PM opens BSC Tower

Desk Report: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the 25-storied BSC Tower at Dainik Bangla intersection in the capital around 12.00 pm on Saturday.
The Bangladesh Shipping Corporation has constructed the earthquake resistance office-cum-commercial high-rise building on a 10-katha land.
A press release of the Shipping Ministry on Thursday said the BSC Tower constructed at a cost of Tk 63.18 crore with having a total of 1,29,000 square feet space.
The tower has three basements, five floors for car parking and two car lifts.
It said that the then DIT allotted the plot to construct a building for BSC in 1973 but the body failed to construct it despite repeated plans.
Later, the body has been able to construct the building due to initiative taken by Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan.
