PM receives two UNICEF awards

Secretariat Correspondent: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has received two international awards given by the UNICEF in recognition to her government’s campaign against early marriage.

The awards are: The Accolade Global Film Competition 2017 Humanitarian Award for Outstanding Achievement and the Accolade Winner Award of Excellence End Child Marriage.

State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroz Chumki and Secretary of the Ministry Nasima Begum handed over the awards to the premier at the outset of the weekly cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office on Monday.

In the meeting, the cabinet gave the final approval to the draft of the ‘Sarkari Chakori Ain, 2018’, according to the Cabinet Secretary Md. Shafiul Alam.

He said, “A government employee would get promotion based on merit, competence, seniority, training and satisfactory services. No written test will be held for this. But if the authorities want, then they can take written test by issuing the rules.”
