Physician crushed to death by train in capital

Staff Correspondent: A physician has been crushed to death by a train in the capital.

The incident took place around 12.45pm on Tuesday at Mohakhali level crossing in the city on Tuesday.

The victim was identified as Iftekhar Quashem (53), a physician of a private hospital at Gulshan in the city.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of GRP Thana Md Yeasin Faruk said Dr Iftekhar was hit by the speedy train while walking along the rail tracks, leaving him dead on the spot.

The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
