Police foil rally as BNP holds it illegally: Quader

Staff Correspondent: Awami League (AL) general secretary Obaidul Quader said police foiled BNP’s rally as they were holding it illegally.

He also said, “BNP itself responsible for Thursday’s incident happened in front of the Jatiya Press Club.”

The Road, Transport and Bridges Minister came up with the comment to the reporters after visiting construction works on Dhaka-Narayanganj Link Road around 11:00am on Friday.

Quader said Awami League never blocks roads to arrange rally or public meeting. We hold programmes at a fixed place. But BNP was holding rally in front of Jatiya Press, blocking one of the busiest roads in the city. So, police bared them. Police will never allow any illegal activity.”

“Accused were present in BNP’s programme on Thursday. So, police arrested them. Cops must arrest the accused if they appear before police,” he added.
