Police urge students to return to classes giving chocolates

Staff Correspondent, Rangpur: Distributing chocolates among the protesting students, Rangpur police have urged them to return to their classes.

Students from different educational institutions in the district today also took to the streets to press home their nine-point demands including safe roads and trial for those responsible for the deaths of two students in a road accident on Airport Road in the capital.

Earlier around 10:00am, the demonstrating students organized a human chain taking position in front of Sarak Bhaban in medical intersection of the district. During this time, Additional Police Super Saifur Rahman distributed chocolates among the students and urged them to return to their classes.

The student protests sparked off in the capital which later spread across the country after Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan smilingly compared the Dhaka Airport Road accident with the one in India, which killed 33 people, while talking to newsmen within one hour of the crash.
