‘Polls to be held in time even if any party avoids joining’

Staff Correspondent, Tangail: “There are 40 registered political parties in the country. We want that all parties take part in the election. The next general election will be held in due time even if any of the political parties refrains from participating in the election,” said Election Commissioner Rafiqul Islam.

The election commissioner said this at a views-exchange meeting held in Kalihati upazila of Tangail on Saturday afternoon.

He said the Election Commission is pledged-bound to hold the next parliamentary election as per the constitution.
