Power generation hits new record

Staff Correspondent: The power generation hit a new record touching 10,699 megawatt on Saturday, which was the highest ever electricity generation of the country.

A press release issued by the Power Development Board (PDB) revealed the news on Sunday.

According to the press release, the country’s power generation touched the milestone of 10,000 MW on March 19 this year. Electricity generation was 10,084 MW on the day.

Earlier, two separate power generation records were 10,137 MW and 10, 147 MW on April 24 and on May 22 respectively, the press release read.
