Senior Correspondent: Education Secretary Sohrab Hossain said, “It is not possible to prevent question paper leakage in the existing system. We have to find out a new method to get rid of this menace.”

He came up with the remark while briefing reporters at the secretariat on Thursday.

Sohrab Hossain said, “We have to initiate such a process in which there will be no chance for leaking question papers. We are working on it. Personally, I am working with an initiative. We will be able to introduce this process very soon.”

He further said, "The fresh method will be introduced in consultation with eminent people and taking the advice of scholars into consideration."

“Around 27,000 to 28,000 people are involved in holding a public examination across the country. If one of them is dishonest, the contribution of rest of the people goes in vain,” the education secretary added.

Holding quick spread of the leaked questions responsible a bit, he said, “The leaked questions are going viral very soon due to easy access to internet. If there was no internet system, it would not be an easy task to spread the leaked questions for those involved in the question paper leakage.”

In reply to a query of reporters about a High Court rule that sought explanation from the government over its inaction to prevent the leakage of question papers, Sohrab Hossain said, “We’ll obey its order.”

The High Court on Thursday ordered a judicial probe into the allegations of question paper leakage in the ongoing Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations and issued a rule asking the authorities concerned to explain as to why their failure and inaction to prevent the leakage of question papers should not be declared illegal and unlawful.
