‘Principal instructed to kill Nusrat from jail’

Staff Correspondent: Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has uncovered two reasons behind Feni madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi murder.

One of the reasons is protest against Siraj Ud Dowla’s mischief while another is refusal of Shahadat Hossain Shamim’s love affair, according to PBI.

Principal Siraj Ud Dowla instructed from jail to kill Nusrat. Upon his instruction, Shahadat Hossain Shamim made a plan to kill her.

PBI Chief Bonoj Kumar Majumder came up with the information in a press briefing at its Dhanmondi headquarters on Saturday.

He said, “Shamim confessed to killing Nusrat murder in interrogation. According to plan, four in-burqa participated directly in Nusrat killing on the madrasa rooftop. Of them, at least one was female. Till now, PBI has found involvement of 13 people in the murder.”

On April 6, Nusrat, Alim student of Feni’s Sonagazi Islamia Senior Fazil Madrasa, was set to fire, leaving her seriously burnt.  After five days of battling, she succumbed to her injuries at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on April 11.
