South Africa Women set 252 for Bangladesh

Sport Correspondent: South Africa National Women Cricket Team have set a 252-run target for Bangladesh National Women Cricket Team in the fourth of a five-match One Day International series in Cox's Bazar on Wednesday.

 

The Proteas scored 251 for 7 wickets after they won toss and chose to bat first at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium.

 

Former Protea captain Mignon du Perez showed an excellent batting performance and scored 79 off 108 balls hitting 6 fours.

 

 

She also built a 74-run third wicket partnership with Chloe Tryon who scored 47 runs off only 54 smashing 7 fours. Besides, skipper Dane van Niekerk added unbeaten 26 off 19 and opener Lizelle Lee 28 runs of 18 balls.  

 

Bangladesh's Khadija Tul Kubra, the heroine of the last match victory, claimed 3 wickets for 48. Rumana Ahmed took 2 while Jahanara Alam 1 wicket.  

 

 

Country's leading brand Walton is sponsoring the series which has officially been named as 'Walton Bangladesh-South Africa Women's ODI Cricket Series 2017'.
 
The visitors are leading the series 2-1 as they won the first match by 86 runs and second match by 17 runs. However, the hosts fought back well and won the third match by 10 runs.  


The fifth and final match will be held at the same venue on 20th January.
