Rail communications with Sylhet snapped

Staff Correspondent, Sylhet: The rail communications between Sylhet and the rest of the country remained suspended following the devastating accident in Moulvibazar’s Kulaura.

Some bogies of Dhaka-bound 'Upaban Express Train' from Sylhet veered off the tracks in Banshail area of Kulaura around 11:45 am, disrupting the train movement on the routes.

Following the accident, a compartment of the train fell into a canal, leaving four people dead and over 150 injured.

The concerned authorizes have started repairing works from this morning. At total of 13 units of fire service, railway police, local police and general people joined the rescue operation.
