Razib Ahsan placed on 5-day remand

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has placed the central Chhatra Dal president Razib Ahsan on a five-day remand in a sabotage case filed with Paltan Police Station in the capital.

The court also placed 13 other accused on a day remand each in the same case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mazharul Islam passed the order on Friday.

The accused remanded for a day are known as Kaml Patwari, organizing secretary of Mohammadpur ward no. 33, Asim Mahmdu, Shamim Hossain, Sajed Ahmed, Shahjahan, Saidur Rahman Mintu, Khalil Ullah, SM Mizanur Rahman, Swapon Bhuiyan, Mollah Faisal Ahsan, Saon, Shamsul Alam and Zahidul Haque Zahid.

Earlier, Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Hannan, Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, sought 10-day remand for each. But the court passed it as above mentioned after hearing in the case filed under Explosive Substances Act.
