Roads to avoid in Dhaka Victory Day

Staff Correspondent: The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued a traffic advisory for Dhaka residents on Friday ahead of Victory Day.

In observance of the day on Saturday, the Victory Day parade will take place at the National Parade Square in Agargaon.

The DMP Traffic Division has barred vehicular movement on six major routes around the parade ground from 7:00am to 1:00pm.

The routes are: Khejur Bagan crossing–Aeroplane crossing–Mirpur 10 roundabout; Shyamoli Shishu Mela crossing–Agargaon light crossing–Rokeya Shoroni; Prime Minister’s Office–Agargaon Link Road; Bijoy Shoroni crossing–Aeroplane crossing; Crescent Lake–Ganabhaban crossing; and Ministry of Defence–Ganabhaban School crossing–BICC crossing.

Guests invited to observe the national parade have been asked to attach stickers provided with their invitation letters on the windscreen of their vehicles.

The guests have also been advised to use the routes mentioned at their invitation cards to go to the parage ground.

As the president, the prime minister, and VVIPs will go to the National Memorial in Savar, traffic will be restricted from Dhaka to Savar via Amin Bazar from 3:00am till 9:00am as well.

All kinds of transport using the Gabtoli-Amin Bazar-Savar Road route have been advised to take a detour through either Abdullahpur or Ashulia.
