‘Robber’ killed in Kushtia ‘gunfight’

Kushtia Correspondent: A ‘robber’ was killed in a ‘gunfight’ between two groups of robbers in the district’s Bheramara upazila early Monday.

The gunfight took place around 3.00am at Hawakhali field on Bheramara-Pragpur road.

The deceased could not be identified yet.

Officer-in-Charge of Bheramara Police Station Khandakar Shamim said on information that there was a gunfight between two groups of robbers, a team of police conducted a drive there. Sensing presence of the police, the robbers fled the scene.
 
Later, police rescued a youth with bullet injury.

He was then taken to Kushtia General Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Police recovered a pistol, three round bullets and two magazines from the spot.
